Bio:
I’ve been lucky enough to spend the past 40 years helping buyers and sellers fulfill their real estate dreams. My first job out of high school was at an escrow office, so I’ve grown up in the business. Over the years, computers have made things more efficient, but I believe the key to successful transactions is still the knowledgeable, warm people who give everything a personal touch.
In 1985, I joined Dixie Escrow in the Coachella Valley. After many years of introducing myself over the phone as “Joyce from Dixie Escrow” I earned the nickname “Ms. Dixie”. This has become a proud name for me, especially after my husband and I bought the business in 1989. While I was born in San Mateo and raised in Merced, I think I would have been comfortable as a Southern Belle.
I am a Certified Senior Escrow Officer, a Director for the CEA (California Escrow Association), have three times been the president of the Desert Escrow Association. For years, I taught the practical side of escrow in both Escrow I and Escrow II at the College of the Desert and I continue to teach at the Desert Cities Real Estate School.
I’m proud to bring my experience to the positive people at Coachella Valley Escrow. I’ve worked with several of them in the past, so I am excited to work again with them at the most established company in the Coachella Valley. Also part of my team at CV Escrow is my longtime assistant Lois King.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my daughter Anne Marie; my son, Thomas; and my five grandchildren. I’m active in the First Baptist Church of Palm Desert and the Soroptimists, an organization where women help women give back to the community. All of these are opportunities, like working in escrow, where I can do what I love: help people. I look forward to helping you, too.
